If you didn’t already know, Kansas City has a longstanding tradition of barbecue, which has resulted in a unique style of slow-smoked meats. Over the years, this proud tradition has given way to The American Royal World Series of Barbecue – the largest barbecue contest in the WORLD and the American Royal’s largest fundraiser, with proceeds benefiting the future of agricultural education. Every year, competitors from around the world smoke it out to be crowned the Grand Champion!

The 41st World Series of Barbecue returned to the Kansas Speedway this year after being postponed due to the 2020 pandemic. Industrial Procurement Services (IndPro) couldn’t wait to be a part of the smoky goodness.

The Smokin’ Elvises

Sponsoring our long-time friends the Smokin’ Elvises, we made our way to Kansas City for a barbecue experience unlike any other with live music, excellent food, and a lot of fun!

The Smokin’ Elvises are a competition BBQ team from the Midwest. With 100’s of contests and awards under their belt, they’ve competed in and won contests including the American Royal World Series of BBQ, American Royal Invitational, Jesse James Days BBQ Cook-Out, North Missouri Championship, and dozens of others.

They’ve been featured on television and are well-known for being strong competitors throughout the Kansas City BBQ Society competition circuit. Even though they are serious about their cooking, they’re not afraid to have fun (maybe a little too much at times).

The Smokin’ Elvises’ dedication and passion for producing the most delicious barbecue have always resonated with our team at IndPro. We truly look forward to continuing to support their competitive team for many years to come.
