Wise words from the Father of Advertising

“In my opinion, delegation has been carried too far in some of the big agencies. Their top men have withdrawn into administration, leaving all contact with clients to juniors. This process builds large agencies, but it leads to mediocrity in performance.”

David Ogilvy

Why the biggest doesn’t necessarily mean the best

Mr. Ogilvy’s words were true to ad agencies in the mid to late 1900’s and are also true today.  True not only in his industry but in the supply chain and material handling industry also.

We have seen a great influx over the past decade of the big material handling companies getting bigger and either buying or running out the little companies.  The problem with growth is the very heart of Mr. Ogilvy’s statement; the most knowledgeable, competent people are removed from the client and relegated to administration and management.

We know our best must be where they are needed most – with our clients

When the top employees become management, new employees must take their place and ultimately it is this inexperienced group that consults, designs and implements the client’s system.

At Industrial Procurement Services, we do not operate that way.  Our entire consulting, data analysis and engineering team has at least 20 years of industry experience each.  We know that our best must be where they are needed most – with our clients.

Data driven, custom applications fueled by our desire to help our clients

This policy may limit the number of projects we engage each year however every project is a data driven, custom application thoroughly collaborated with our clients.

Our solutions are not driven by an internal desire to become larger but rather by our desire to help our clients improve their supply chain operations.

Our work is superior to others because we actually take pride in what we do

To borrow another analogy; “in a world of cookie cutter houses built in a matter of days, we deliver the beautiful custom designed and meticulously build home at the end of the street.”  Our work is superior to others because we actually take pride in what we do.
